Description
trying to ping something results in a bus error. This has been around for a while now.

http://savannah.gnu.org/support/?104441 is the bug that I was hoping would spark more activity than it already has. Haven't heard anything else.
Using memcpy from gnulib isn't probably what we want.
I'm using netkit-base ping for now.
Not sure where to go with this if anywhere. Most distros are using netkit-base on sparc, especially Splackware. I'm also using netkit-ftp instead of ftp from inetutils as it works properly instead of having to mget anything instead of just using get. These are just on my builds.
Most people have been using the patch I created to get inetutils ping to work properly.
