You can skip Yaboot, You will need a small MACOS Partition and Bootx ​http://penguinppc.org/historical/benh/BootX_1.2.2.sit

I use a 50mb MACOS partition and the remainder of the drive
For Sound to work properly, you will need to add the following to modprobe.conf

alias snd-card-0 snd-powermac
alias sound-slot-0 snd-powermac
