    <title>FHS compliance notes</title>

    <para>The FHS recommends using the <filename
    class="directory">/var/lib/hwclock</filename> directory instead of the
    usual <filename class="directory">/etc</filename> directory as the
    location for the <filename>adjtime</filename> file. To make the
    <command>hwclock</command> program FHS-compliant, run the following:</para>

    <title>Installation of Util-linux</title>

    <para os="p1">Util-linux fails to compile against newer versions of
    Linux kernel headers. The following patch properly fixes this issue:</para>

    <para os="p3">The following patch fixes build issues the changes to the Linux 2.6.18 headers:</para>

   <para os="p5">The following patch fixes swapon.c - it tries to find the
   variable R_OK, but the header that has R_OK is not included:</para>

    <para os="p7">Due to a change in headers some Util-linux will not build.
    This patch will change the utilization of llseek to lseek. This fix has
    been applied to the development version of util-linux:</para>

    <para os="s1">The Util-linux installation uses <option>-o root</option>.
    As we are currently using an unprivileged user, this will not work. The
