[fd90c25f]13 <para>This chapter shows how to complete the build of temporary tools to
14 create a minimal system that will be used to boot the target machine and to
15 build the final system packages.</para>

[32ec4f08]17 <para>There are a few additional packages that will need to be
[fd90c25f]18 installed to allow you to boot the minimal system. Some of these
[b71fa50]19 packages will be installed onto the root or in /usr on the CLFS
[9cb6b64]20 partition ($CLFS/bin, $CLFS/usr/lib, etc...), rather than /tools, using the
[fd90c25f]21 "DESTDIR" option with make. This will require the
[f1fd69a]22 <systemitem class="username">clfs</systemitem> user to have write access to
[9cb6b64]23 the rest of the $CLFS partition, so you will need to temporarily change the
[f1fd69a]24 ownership of $CLFS to the <systemitem class="username">clfs</systemitem> user.
